Bologna and Rimini take playoff lead |

Three games into the nine game round robin semi-final of the Italian Baseball League, and the top two teams from the regular season Rimini and Bologna lead 2-1 over San Marino and Parma respectively. Both San Marino and Parma took the early advantage in the first games at home, but as the series shifted back to the home field of the higher seeds things changed. Most notable was Bologna's offensive explosion following their loss with 22 and 12 run performances. Rimini instead did it with pitching winning 2-0 and 3-1. In the second week series starting on Wednesday, San Marino hosts Bologna and Parma hosts Rimini. After the nine games are completed on August 8th, the top two teams advance to the best of seven finals to determine the IBL champion. |
